Automatic SMD-Handler ATH-1000 Provides Fast,
Reliable Tray to Tray Component Testing
Targeting the growing trend for SMD Components, ALPHA-TEST GmbH, Germany now offer their ATH-1000 SMD Tray-Handler. This unit is for handling components out of plastic trays back into plastic trays or into blister tape.
Designed to speed up component testing, the ATH-1000 is a mechanical handler built to provide component users and manufacturers a cost-effective method of automatically testing components out of plastic trays in a fast, very reliable and safe manner.
Intended with high-volume manufacturing in mind, the handler is already designed to optionally hold a stack of trays in the input area (also optional available is blister-tape) and after filling it back with tested devices, transport it to the outputsection.
At the test site, the contactors are made of standard test sockets, which easily can be changed. The principle of the standard unit is as follows:
The tray will be loaded in manually. Then the tray will drive to the 1. position. The transport arm will catch the first part and brings it into the contact. The tester in the back is testing the component and the transport arm will bring back the device into the tray. Then the next step starts. If there is a failed device, the x/y table will move, so the tranport arm can put the failed device into the fail bin.
Upon completion of the test of all parts in the tray, the ATH-1000 handler will give the operator a sound to interchange the tray (automatic tray change with optional tray loader).
The ATH-1000 is also available as Handler from Blister-Tape to Tray (ATH-1800) or as Handler from Tray to Blister-Tape (ATH-1900). As Version ATH-8000 it will handle components from Blister Tape to Blister Tape.
The components which can be tested are all major SMD-Components which will be delivered in Trays, like QFP, TSOP, TSSOP, SSOP, SOP, PGA and others.
The entire process is 100% automated and hands-free. The handler provides labor saving testing where operator errors are completed eliminated.
The handler is compatible with all major testers on the market.
Available is also a chip-handler series ATH-200 for TSOP, SOJ, SO-IC, and others. Also with multiple test-sites in one rail.
